Palin: "I'm Not Doing This for Naught"

Win or lose, Sarah Palin, plans to remain on the U.S. national political scene, ABC News reported. "I'm not doing this for naught," she said in an interview with the network.

Does "I'm not doing this for naught," mean being VP is simply a negligible insiginifcant wrung on her ladder?

From being Prisoner of War to being Prisoner of Palin. The McCain-Palin blah-blah of "Country First." reminds me of a phrase I heard in Grammar school, "AFTER ME, you come first..." So much for the McCain-Palin blah-blah of "Country First."
